Phipps Conservatory

I didn't want to stay in my stroller for very long after this picture was taken.

Mommy loved the Orchid Room.

Close up of an orchid; isn't it amazing how unique each flower is?!

We found this bench which was a perfect photo op.

"Orange-butterfly!"

We had to see this amazing red blown glass! It was the only color amist the green plants!

Did you know that when a butterfly emerges from it's cacoon that it stays right by the empty shell for at least three days waiting for it's wings to dry?!

There were so many butterflies up there! I was trying to name the colors of them.

BANANAS!!! mmmm mmm! I saw them before anyone else did!

This garden was full of fruits and veggies that we pointed out and named.

Baby Watermelon!!

What a nice place to play! Mommy almost missed this area, but I saw it and she followed me there.

We filled the elephant watering can and gave the corn a nice refreshing drink! I remember when I would help grandma water the flowers ;)

I wanted to water the flowers by myself, somehow though, the water didn't flow out as easy.

Mommy double checked, but this was not a real tree trunk.

The water felt cool misting on our faces and hands.

I was trying to put my hand in there, but I couldn't exactly reach the top.

Daddy told me that we should just look at the fish and I guess it seemed alright to do that instead. The water was very clear; that made it easy to see all the goldfish.

I want to touch this waterfall tooo!

ball! ball! I wanted one, but Daddy said that they would not be as fun to play with as my blue tigger ball.

Mommy really liked this blown glass, she thinks they were made to look like flamingos, but I've seen flamingos and the real ones are pink!

yellow and pink and orange... are those flowers? The blown glass is so preeeety!

I am not too sure what we are doing, but they seem to want me to look up?

This was Daddy's favorite room due to all the "silver."

This blue glass sculpture was at the beginning of our adventure and at the end of it as well (we were directed to take only right turns).

Phipps Conservatory was full of many plants from all over the world. It was tough to try and soak everything in, I guess that is why some people get a year-round pass. We saw baby pineapple and it got us thinking of Auntie Anna and Uncle Elan out in Hawaii! The blown glass definately heightened the experience, I wonder how one might blow glass? Something for me to find out in the future... I think that my favorite part was playing in the water and seeing all the butterflies and fish. After the conservatory we went for some Italian ice cream (gelati). It was so delicious! What a day full of wonder.
